Sylvia Powers Osborne

Sylvia Powers Osborne, born on September 9, 1943, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on October 25, 2025, at the Hospice of Davidson County - Hinkle House. She was 82 years old.

Sylvia was the cherished daughter of the late James Harvey and Lila Ogolee Lohr Powers. She received her formal education at Ledford in Thomasville, NC, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with dedication and love for those around her. At the tender age of 13, Sylvia accepted Christ as her Savior at Emanuel Church, a decision that guided her throughout her life.

She devoted many years to serving others through her work in customer service at Classic Cleaner until her retirement. Sylvia found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as playing games on her cell phone and spending cherished moments with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her beloved parents; her brothers, James E. "Buster" Powers, Charles Leon Powers, Bobby Lee Powers, Alvin Lee "Mack" Powers, and Donald J. "Buddy" Powers; her sisters, Margaret Scarlette and Susan Johnson; and her stepson, Ronald Osborne.

Sylvia leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory: her son, Eric Scott Osborne; her stepson, Terry Osborne and his wife Susan; her brother, Fred Powers and his wife Diane; her sisters, Ruth Myers and her husband Paul, and Marie Spivey. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of beloved friends who will miss her dearly.

In accordance with Sylvia's wishes, no formal services will be held. Her family and friends will remember her privately, honoring the warm and caring spirit that touched all who knew her.
