Ruth Goldstein

Ruth Shapiro Goldstein, 87, of Statesville, passed away, Thursday, January 06, 2011 at The Statesville Place. Mrs. Goldstein was born April 20, 1923 in New York, NY and was the daughter of the late Jacob Shapiro and Gussie Honig. She was a graduate of New York City Schools and Cooper Union College in New York. She was married to the late Edward Goldstein, who passed away March 12, 2000. She was a retired Controller for Textile Tape Weavers and was an active member and former President of the Congregation Emmanuel Temple in Statesville. Mrs. Goldstein is survived by one son, Barry Goldstein (Heidi) of Statesville, one daughter, Joanne Rosenfield (Larry) of Statesville; five grandchildren, Ami Goldstein of Durham, Robin Rosenfield of Statesville, Janet Rosenfield of Statesville, Juli Goldstein of Oakland, CA, Brett Goldstein of Chesapeake, VA and nine great grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rabbi Murray Ezring officiating. The family will hold Shiva at the Rosenfield residence on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings.
