Richard Arnold Wimmer (AKA Bubby, Bambi, Big Daddy, Cowboy), age 64, of Lexington rode away into the sunrise on his wings of angels peacefully at the Hospice of Davidson County Hinkle House on April 2, 2026.

Born on July 23, 1961, in Monroe County, WV, he was the son of the late James Marvin Wimmer and Gracie Ann Johnston Wimmer. Arnold was an avid lover of animals, wrestling, and Westerns.

In addition to his parents, Arnold was preceded in death by his oldest son, Christopher Michael Wimmer, and the love of his life Granny, Mary Ellen Wimmer.

Those left to cherish his memory are son, Emmanuel Lee Wimmer (Jasmine) of Las Vegas, NV; bonus sons, Thomas “TJ” (Annie) and Harley (Kierstian) of GA, and five bonus grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings, Doug Wimmer (Bonnie) of FL, Sheila Meadows (Jimmy) of WV, Stanley Wimmer of Lexington, NC, and “Lil Sister” Martha Wimmer of Thomasville, NC; along with adopted siblings Angie Springs (Timmy) of Trinity, NC and Doug Meadows of Narrows, VA; and special friend and assistant caregiver, Will Barber.

Per Arnold’s wishes, he will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Davidson County Hinkle House.
