Patricia "Patty" Carolyn (Bennett) Miller

Patricia Carolyn Bennett Miller, 62, of Statesville, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born September 26, 1956 in Germany, Patty was the daughter of Annelies Margot Neumann Bennett of Statesville and the late Ronald Buford Bennett.
Patty was a 1974 graduate of North Iredell High School. She received her Nursing Degree from Davis Hospital. She continued her education at UNC-Greensboro receiving BS in Nursing. She also maintained her Critical Care Certification throughout the majority of her nursing career. For over 30 years she worked in multiple hospitals in various fields, longest time being spent at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Patty enjoyed taking care of family, friends, and all God’s creatures. She was truly a very caring person. Her God was very important to her as was the environment. She was a member of St. Philip The Apostle Catholic Church.
On May 31, 1986 she was married to William” Bill” Miller, who survives. In addition to her husband and mother Ann, Patty is survived by a sister, Millie Page and companion Paul Simson; her mother and father-in-law, Herb and Marcia Miller, of Statesville; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Jerry Spruill, of Mooresville; and nephews, Eric Page and James Robinson of Cary, NC. Her loving pets, Tookie and Wolfgang (Wolfie) also survive.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Patty will be conducted 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018 in the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas W. Sherrod officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Burke County Friends of Animals, 417 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655 or to Susan K Foundation for the Cure, 505 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX. 75244.
