Patricia Ann Brooks, born on September 20, 1935, in High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, at the age of 90, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC.
Born to the late James Oliver and Iris Eulalah "Lalah" Shepard Poindexter, Patricia was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She received her formal education at High Point Central and furthered her studies at High Point College. From an early age, Patricia accepted Christ as her Savior and was united as a member with Main Street United Methodist Church, where her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.
Patricia's life was marked by her love for decorating, gardening, reading, and traveling, pursuits that brought her joy and fulfillment. She married her first husband, Dock Ardell Huggins, who passed away in 1982. She later found love again with her second husband, David M. Brooks, who preceded her in death in 1998.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Patricia was preceded in death by her son, James Lloyd Huggins, and her daughter, Alyssa Layne Huggins. She leaves behind her cherished son, David Michael Huggins, and his wife Beth; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Fayanne Huggins, and her partner Brandon Shannon; and her grandson, David Branson Huggins, and his wife Vanessa. Patricia also held dear her special friends, Crystal and Eddie Hamby.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. Memorial donations may be made in Patricia's honor to Trellis Supportive Care, an organization that provided comfort and support to her in her final days.
Patricia Ann Brooks will be remembered for her warmth, grace, and the enduring love she shared with her family and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
