Pamela Howell Daniel, born on April 19, 1946, in Chatham County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 80, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, North Carolina.
Pamela was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Ellis Fitchett and Eva Roberta Culver. She grew up in a loving family that instilled in her a profound appreciation for history and art. Her passion for these subjects led her to a fulfilling career as a curator at the Davidson County Historical Museum, where she dedicated her time to preserving and sharing the rich history of the region.
In addition to her professional pursuits, Pamela had a deep love for historical art, which she cherished throughout her life. Her keen eye and appreciation for detail were evident in both her work and personal interests.
Pamela was united in marriage to James Marshall Daniel, known affectionately as Jim, who survives her. Their partnership was marked by mutual respect, shared interests, and enduring love.
In addition to her devoted husband Jim, she leaves behind a daughter, Jennings McCarthy of Long Beach, CA, and a son, John Daniel of Decatur, Ga., along with four grandchildren, and friends and acquaintances who will remember her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her work and passions.
At this time, no formal services are planned. Pamela’s memory will be cherished by those who knew her, and her legacy will live on through the history and art she so deeply loved.
