Mary Magdalene Mitchell

Mary Magdalene Mitchell, aged 63, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at Randolph Health Hospital in Asheboro, NC. She was born on December 4, 1962, in Welch, McDowell County, WV, to the late Hobert Hicks and Louise Webb.

Mary received her formal education at Bradshaw High School in Bradshaw, WV. It was in Bradshaw where she met the love of her life, Campbell Mitchell, whom she married on August 18, 1980. Together, they built a loving family and shared a life filled with joy and companionship.

Mary had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, finding peace and happiness in the natural world around her. One of her favorite pastimes was watching ducks at the park, a serene activity that brought her much joy.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Louise Webb, and her sister, Gladys Scott. Her memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Campbell Mitchell, and children: Joseph Scott, Anthony Mitchell, Mary Sims and her husband Aaron, and Robert Mitchell. Mary was also a proud grandmother, leaving behind six grandchildren: Elijah Scott, Colleen Sims, David Scott, Devin Mitchell, Jasmine Scott, and Talia Sims.

Though there are no formal services planned at this time, Mary's family invites those who knew her to remember her in their own special way. Her warmth, kindness, and love will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
