Leila Frances Jarnagin

Leila Frances Jarnagin, age 83, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. Born on March 22, 1942, in Washington, D.C., Leila lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, creativity, and a love for nature.

Leila found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—she worked with all potted plants and flowers and loved putting her hands in the soil when she filled them, creating and fixing jewelry, and spending time on her tablet. Above all, she cherished time with her family, whose love and presence brought her deep happiness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fines F. Jarnagin and Frances E. Uber, and her beloved brothers: Jack E. Jarnagin, Richard F. Jarnagin, and Robert F. Jarnagin.

Leila leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her in their hearts: her sisters, Linda K. Shamonsky and Donna Warner; her children, John Lewis, Ted Lewis, Dan Lewis, and Susan Lewis; her grandchildren, Michael Lewis, Alex Lewis, and Cody Bilheimer; and her great-grandchildren, Asher Lewis and Parker Lewis.

Leila’s warmth, strength, and quiet joy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in the flowers she nurtured, the jewelry she crafted, and the family she so deeply loved.
