L.C. Hayes

L.C. Hayes, age 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at The Oaks in Winston-Salem.  Born on November 18, 1935, in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late Clyde Hayes and Gracy Strickland Hayes.  He was a proud Veteran having served in the United States Army.
L.C. loved drag-racing, mowing grass, dove hunting, hunting, and fishing.  His true love and passion was the cherished memories he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a very sociable person who also enjoyed eating his favorite food, FRIED CHICKEN.
In addition to his parents, Clyde and Gracy Hayes, he was preceded in death by his brothers, C.J. Hayes and J.W. Haye, his daughter Melissa Walters.  Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Mary Meadows Hayes; daughters, Robin Yarborough, and Kimberly Wadell (Terry); sons, David Walters (Trish), Danny Walters, and Jeffery Wayne Walters; sisters, Darlene Hedrick (Jackie) and Judy Roseberry (Ronnie); brothers, Harry Lee Hayes, Joe Davis Hayes, Roy Lee Hayes, Tommy Hayes, and James Hayes; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
