Laura Jean Moody

Laura Jean Moody, age 40, of Candor, NC, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, in Montogomery County, NC. Born on August 23, 1982, in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of Mary Boone and the late Jimmy Lewis Mashburn.
Laura had many passions in her life that she was truly devoted in doing. She enjoyed reading, coloring, listening to music, going camping, sitting and playing "the music game," and cooking. Laura also loved to bake cakes and going to get her nails done.
She was preceded in death by her son, Israel Jacob Moody; and her biological father, Jimmy Lewis Mashburn. Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 19 years, John V. Moody; daughter, Mackenzie Elizabeth Moody and husband, Alex Lynn Ortigoza, son, Jared Mashburn; grandchildren, Zayda A. Mashburn, Lunarose Lynn Moody; mom, Mary Boone; Bill Boone, whom she called "dad"; brother, Jeremy Mashburn and wife, Angie; niece, Allie moody; and two nephews, Dakota Hayden and Apache Hayden.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at From Behind the Veil Ministry with Donna Lowe officiating. Nicholson Funerals & Cremations, Thomasville Chapel has the honor of serving the family.
