Joan Loflin Roberts

Joan Loflin Roberts, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, NC. She was 83 years old.

Born on March 20, 1943, in Guilford County, NC, Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Perley L. Loflin and Allie Mae Clinard Loflin. She spent her early years in Guilford County, where she developed the values and strength that would guide her throughout her life.

On July 14, 1979, Joan married James E. Roberts in Thomasville, NC, marking the beginning of a loving partnership that would last for many years. Her career was spent at NorthState Telephone Company, where she dedicated many years of service.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Gary Wray. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her son, John Roberts, and his wife Alison; her daughter, Chrissy McHenry, and her husband Steve; and her grandchildren, Gabriel Roberts, Logan Roberts, Cameron McHenry, Cassie McHenry, Brantley Wray, and Jason Wray.

Though no formal services are planned at this time, Joan's family and friends will hold her close in their hearts, remembering her warmth and kindness.
