Edward Paul Hurley, 76, passed away August 24, 2022, at Lake Norman Medical Center. He was born November 18, 1945, to the late Rev. Avener J. Hurley and Elsie Blevins-Hurley and was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Hassel “Junebug” Hurley and Ronnie Hurley and a sister Linda Clawson, and his first wife Carolyn Sue Hurley.
He was a 1964 graduate of Glen Roger’s High School; he served 4 years in the US Air Force and was a coal miner for several years. He retired after 19 years from Tube Specialties/Nelson Global company in March of 2022. He was a man of God and was a huge contribution to his church. He loved his family and kept a high moral standard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years Betty Bennett-Hurley, a sister Darlene Hurley, one daughter Michelle Dalton, a son/grandson Tanner Hurley, grandson Trey Dalton, granddaughter Kierra Dalton, stepdaughters Teresa Matthews, Lorie (Mike) Tomlin, Renee (Lew) Elias, step grandchildren Nichole, Charles, Amber, Renita, Charlie and Brandon and several great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be on September 24, 2022, at Nicholson Funeral Home at 2pm for family and friends.
