Dorothy Lou Hylman, born on September 17, 1972, in Guilford County, North Carolina, passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 52. Dorothy's life was a testament to love, kindness, and dedication, both to her family and her community.

A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Kenneth Hylman. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with joy and cherished memories. She was a proud and nurturing mother to her daughter, Ashley Parker (Tyler), and son, Nicholas Hylman. Her siblings, Suzie Walls and Barbara Gibbs, along with numerous nieces and nephews, also carry her memory in their hearts.

Dorothy dedicated over a decade of her life to nurturing young minds as a Daycare Teacher, deeply impacting the lives of countless children and families. She held an Early Childhood Education Degree, which she put to good use, always focusing on fostering a loving and enriching environment for her students.

Her interests were simple yet profound. Dorothy was a devoted Dr Pepper fan and loved walking in the parks, where she found peace and joy in nature. She cherished her time spent with family, especially at the beach, which was her sanctuary. Above all, she treasured her role as a mother, which was evident in every facet of her life.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Cash, her mother, Betty Miller, and her brothers, Teddy Cash and Anthony Cash. Their love and memories carried a special place in her heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, t 11:00am at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 5959 Hickory Grove Church Road, Greensboro, NC 27409 . Flowers are accepted at the service, as we honor and remember Dorothy's vibrant spirit and the warmth she brought into our lives.

Dorothy Lou Hylman will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and dedication to family and community will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
