Mr. Donald Lee Lambert, 82, of Statesville, died Wednesday at his home. Born in Iredell County on May 1, 1940, he was a son of the late Samuel Lambert and Maggie Moore Lambert. Don worked for 44 years for the City Of Statesville and enjoyed gardening, canning, mowing, fishing and hunting. He loved sitting on his front porch, loved his family and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his wife Shelby.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Lambert (Diane) and Randy Lambert (Lana), two daughters, Donna Elliott (Barry) and Robin Horne (Ricky) along with a sister, Lucy Johnson.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Jennifer Elliott, Lori Patterson (Clint), Lisa Arehart (Corey), Sherrie Lambert (Shawn Lemire), Matt Elliott (Jennifer), Misty Williams (Michael), Josh Horne, Mary Lippard (Ryan), Megan Horne (Cody McKinny), Courtney Wallick (Kurt), Rebecca Lambert (Amber St.John). Also surviving are great grandchildren: Chelsea Quinn (Michael), Jacob Wingate, Shelby Crain (Kage Irwin), Joe Arehart (Harley Dillingham), Riley Patterson, Caleb Patterson, Jonathan Cantner, Elijah Elliott, Jaxon O’Neill, Chloe Elliott, Chase Elliott, Brooklyn Lippard, Mason Lippard, Kepleigh Elliott, Madelyn Lippard, Killian Elliott and Hudson Lippard. Also surviving is one great great grandchild, Tyson Quinn.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 17,2022 at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. John Acker, Rev. Johnny Bolin and Rev. John Parks officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence of the deceased and will greet friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at East Side Baptist Church.
