David Wendell Welker

David Wendell Welker, age 67, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024.  David was born in Greensboro, NC and a resident of Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated from Grimsley High School and attended GTCC where he excelled in mathematics. David studied Marine Biology at UNC Wilmington.  Before a recent illness, David would often be found fishing at Salem Lake and feeding the wild birds. David was a gifted artist. 

He was dearly loved and will be missed. Survived by his mother Jacqueline F. Welker, of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Donna W. McKinney of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Eric L. Welker, Sr. (Mary), both of Summerfield, NC; nephew, Matthew I. McKinney; and niece, Megan E. McKinney. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman W. Welker, III of Greensboro, NC; his sister, Elaine W. Willis, (Billy) of Raleigh, NC; and his nephew, Lee Welker, Jr. of Greensboro, NC.
