Darlene Selette Davis-Georgia, age 58, of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Lexington Health Care. Born on June 18, 1964, in Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Lee Skeen and Alice Davis, and her grandmother who raised her, Alice Myreece Clark.
Darlene was a 1982 graduate of Thomasville High School, where she played volleyball. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and at times, cheered for the Carolina Panthers. Darlene was a long-time member of Union Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and served as an usher. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt who was devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, Richard Lee Skeen and Alice Davis, she was preceded in death by her sister, Tanya Skeen; and her maternal grandparents, Lafayette Davis, Sr. and Jennie Reece Davis. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Leroy Georgia; sisters, Nanette Wilson (Earl), and Carolyn Rich-Southerland (Prentice); brother, Anthony Davis (Tiffany); many aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.
Receiving of family and friends will be from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Union Baptist Church, 828 Mary James Ave., Thomasville. A Celebration of her Life will follow at 11:00 am at Union Baptist Church with Reverend Van Johnson officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 1:15 pm at Guil-Rand Memorial Park Cemetery, 1550 NC-62, High Point, NC.
