Beverly Mae Williams

Beverly Mae Brown Williams, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in Randolph County, North Carolina. She was 87 years old.

Born on August 27, 1940, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, Beverly spent a lifetime dedicated to her family and nurturing those around her. As a homemaker and babysitter, she created a warm and loving environment filled with laughter and care.

Her gardens were a testament to her love of nature, and she took great pride in canning the fruits of her labor, sharing her homemade goods with family and friends. Beverly found solace in reading her Bible and was uplifted by the powerful notes of gospel music, always inspired by the works of Jimmy Swaggart. A gifted conversationalist, she delighted in talking on the phone, staying connected with loved ones near and far.

Beverly is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 65 years, Carroll Vance Williams; her father, Walter Owenby; her mother, Lula Brown; her daughter, Mary June Shephard; her sisters, Carolyn Hinesley; and her brothers, Howard Shipman, Carl Shipman, Billy Shipman, Bud Owenby, and Garry Owenby.

She leaves behind two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.

In keeping with Beverly's wishes, no services will be held at this time. Her family invites those who knew her to remember her in their own special way, cherishing the moments shared and the love that continues to grow in their hearts.
