Betty Lou Fowler, aged 84, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. Born on July 27, 1941, in Kannapolis, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Claude Gilbert and Eulah Latham McLemore.
On April 30, 1965, Betty married Eugene "Gene" Wilson Fowler in York, South Carolina, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted until Gene's passing. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother, whose life was centered around her family and faith.
Betty received her formal education at DCCC in Lexington, North Carolina, where she trained to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was employed by Hospice of Davidson County for several years until her retirement, where she provided compassionate care to those in need.
At the age of 30, Betty accepted Christ as her Savior at Spruce Street Baptist Church. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she later became a cherished member of Currytown Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Betty found joy in her church community, gardening, and spending quality time with her beloved family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; her son, Michael Joe Baker; her daughter, Cynthia Fowler; her grandson, Stephen Fowler; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Fowler.
Betty is survived by her loving family: son Cecil Fowler and his wife Jody, along with their children Matthew and Christopher Fowler, and great-grandson Liam Fowler; son Randy Fowler and his wife Lisa, with her daughter Fallon (Will) and great-grandson Zavier Mathis; and Randell Fowler and his wife Diana, with their children TJ Plyler and Cason Fowler, and great-granddaughter Elara Plyler-Johnson. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue through her surviving family and friends.
A graveside service to honor Betty's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington, North Carolina. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, reflecting Betty's commitment to care and compassion.
Betty's charismatic spirit and unwavering faith touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
