Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith, born on May 25, 1952, in Rowan County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home in Lexington, North Carolina, on July 22, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born to the late George Lee and Mary Frances Honeycutt Smith, Barbara was a cherished daughter and sister. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Elizabeth Diane Smith.

Barbara leaves behind a family who will forever hold her memory dear. She is survived by her son, Shane Houck, and his wife, Erin; her daughter, Shannon C. Warden, and her husband, Michael. Barbara was a grandmother to Shane Jr., Noah, Joshua, Marlee, Greyson, and Nolan. She is also survived by her niece, Sherrie Smith, and Sherrie's partner, Adrian Raker, along with their children, Ryan and Brittany.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal services. Those who wish to honor Barbara's memory may make memorial donations to the Davidson County Animal Shelter, reflecting her kindness and compassion towards all living creatures.

Barbara Ann Smith will be remembered for her gentle spirit and her devotion to her family. Her legacy of love and warmth will continue to inspire those who knew her.
